Position Description: Day Support Activity Assistant
The employee in this position is responsible for providing training/ assistance and support to program participants according to guidelines established by the agency. The Day Support Activity Assistant reports directly to the day support supervisor.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Consistently demonstrates a positive work ethic and commitment to the organization demonstrating leadership and team player qualities.
- Ensures all necessary documentation is completed by for daily duties and tasks, according to Elkridge standards and EGC policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates proper medical care for each participant including medication management, medical appointments, and proper documentation and upkeep of medical records according to the goals outlined in the ISP.
- Thoroughly maintains and up keeps the center according to EGC policies and procedures and regulatory agencies.
- Provides support to each participant by implementing their annual plan of support, goals, and objectives as outlined in their ISP.
- The employee provides participants with supports to ensure safety while on outings in the community.
QUALIFICTIONS:
- The employee must have a high school diploma or equivalent degree (GED).
- At least one year of experience working individuals with disabilities or in the human services field (nursing, CNA, rehab services, hospital care).
- The employee must also have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
- Experience in a high intensity day support setting is preferred.
- Satisfactory completion of CPR and First Aid Training Class.
- Satisfactory completion of Medication Management Certification.
- Satisfactory completion of Home and Community Based Services Training.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.00 - $11.00 per hour
