DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- The Excavation Ground Man or Woman is a very physical role that involves lifting of heavy tools such as compactors, saws, etc. Other duties include shovel and rake work, directing the Lead Operator and acting as a spotter, laying & gluing pipe. This key position is a jack-of-all-trades position that is difference maker on our dynamic job-sites!
- Confirm that all job-site signs & marketing are cared for and visible.
- Supporting Lead Operators in ensuring projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes while maintaining high quality standards.
- Helping the team to maintain construction schedules in conjunction with the project team to meet milestones and completion dates.
- Confirm that you have clear direction on scope and timeframe from your Leads to ensure project targets are achieved.
- Attending project meetings with multiple stakeholders, anticipating stakeholder needs, to support the project.
- Responding to the immediate needs of a changing & dynamic jobsite with patience and professionalism.
- Perform daily check & maintenance of equipment, tools, and vehicles.
- Supporting staff through coaching, professional development, team meetings and GSRs (Goal Setting and Review Meetings).
- Communicate with other team members, and subcontractors, as well as customers in a professional and appropriate manner.
- Supporting and maintaining healthy, happy work environments and corporate culture.
- Maintaining clean, organized and professional presentation of work sites
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Physical ability to carry or place heavy objects where needed (85 lbs. minimum)
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- History of using hand tools as well as equipment
- Must have a mechanical aptitude, with the ability to troubleshoot
