Summary: Dynamic environment, requiring attention to detail, professionalism, and courteousness. Provide primary pharmacy support to doctors and hospital staff. Strong emphasis placed on providing excellent customer service to the client and care to the patient while demonstrating technical proficiency. Position requires excellent communication skills as well as organization, attention to detail and ability to prioritize. The pharmacy technician will ensure that all prescriptions are filled in a timely and accurate manor while adhering to all applicable state and federal guidelines.
Duties:
- Accurately dispense veterinary medications under the direction of licensed veterinarians
- Quality assurance of prescription refills and requests
- Processing initial and refill medication requests
- Responding to emails and phone messages left by clients, pharmacies, and referring doctors
- Restocking and ensuring accurate count of inventory items including but not limited to medications and medication dispensing supplies
- Communicating inventory needs/shortages to appropriate staff members
- Keeping the pharmacy in a neat orderly manner
- Ensure patient prescription records are complete and up to date
- Assure the proper maintenance, cleanliness, and use of all equipment in the pharmacy,
- Communicate any needs for improvement to managers and/or inventory department
- Delegate tasks to pharmacy assistant as needed during shift
- Complete tasks as requested by supervisor

- Must be enthusiastic , confident and possess strong listening skills
- Ability to communicate accurately and clearly with clients, coworkers, referring veterinarians and outside pharmacies
- Possess a strong working knowledge of veterinary pharmacology
- Ability to calculate basic medical math
- Must be comfortable working with computers and have basic typing skills
- Think critically and use problem solving skills
- Ability to accurately multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail is a must.
- Ability to work schedule required
Education: High school diploma, CPhT or CVT certification, or equivalent in work experience
Job environment: Fast paced environment, sitting/standing for prolonged periods of time, comfort being in an environment with various animal species

Experience:
- Pharmacy or Veterinary Technician: 3 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- Veterinary Technician Certification (Preferred)
- PTCB Certification (Preferred)
