Job Title: Class A CDL Truck Driver (Local Drop-and-Hook Route)

Frequency: Bi-weekly payJob OverviewWe are seeking a dependable and motivated Class A CDL Driver for a local, dedicated route in Waco, Texas. This position requires operating a manual transmission truck (10-speed) hauling a live bottom trailer. This is a highly efficient drop-and-hook operation with pre-loaded trailers. Drivers must be comfortable using basic technology, as all load information and tracking will be completed on a company-provided iPad.Schedule & Hours
- Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Facility gate hours)
- Saturday: 7:00 AM – 11:30 AM (Facility gate hours)
- Home Daily: Local route with no over-the-road (OTR) travel required.
Production Requirements
- Monday – Friday: Minimum of 5 loads per day.
- Saturday: minimum of 2 loads.
- Note: The 21-mile route is highly optimized and trailers are pre-loaded, making these daily load targets easily obtainable within gate hours.

Job Requirements
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Proven experience driving a manual 10-speed transmission.
- Basic technical literacy to log and input haul information into an iPad.
- Experience or familiarity with live bottom trailers and drop-and-hook operations.
- Clean driving record with no recent at-fault accidents or major violations.
- Strong reliability and commitment to the required Monday–Saturday schedule.
- Ability to pass standard DOT physical and drug screening.

Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks with manual transmissions, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of freight across designated routes.
- Load and unload cargo using proper manual handling techniques.
- Safely drive trucks and tractor-trailers while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and ensure timely arrivals.
- Handle logistics cargo handling tasks, including securing loads on flatbeds or tanker units and managing hazardous materials in accordance with hazardous materials regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, inspections, and deliveries in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Load & unload freight efficiently while ensuring cargo safety and adherence to safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, or safety concerns.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) for the type of truck operated.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driver experience.
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards governing commercial trucking operations.
- Experience handling freight logistics cargo handling tasks safely and efficiently.
- Ability to hook and unhook trailers following safety procedures.
- Knowledge of materials regulations for transporting goods safely.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and compliance; understanding GPS navigation systems preferred.
- Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks required for loading/unloading trailers; must meet DOT physical requirements.
