Job Title: Senior Solar Electrician/O&M Technician
Location: New England Area (Travel across MA, CT, VT, and occasional travel to IN & GA)
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Solar Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Technician to join our team. This is an in-house technician role responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of our solar energy systems. The position requires frequent travel across Massachusetts (MA), Connecticut (CT), Vermont (VT), and occasional travel to Indiana (IN) and Georgia (GA) to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety in the renewable energy industry. Experience with DAS/SCADA systems is a significant advantage, and Medium Voltage (MV) experience is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform semi-annual Preventative Maintenance (PM) on solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, ensuring all components are operating at peak performance.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues with inverters, wiring, modules, and other system components.
- Conduct system inspections, performance testing, and data analysis to identify and address potential issues.
- Monitor and analyze system performance using DAS/SCADA systems, and resolve any discrepancies or alarms.
- Respond to system alerts and faults in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, company policies, and industry standards while on-site.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to execute maintenance and repair projects effectively.
- Travel to various sites across MA, CT, VT, and occasionally to IN/GA, as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience in solar PV system maintenance, electrical systems, or a related field.
- Journeyman License at a minimum.
- Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, including inverters, wiring, and monitoring systems.
- Experience with troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical or mechanical issues.
- Familiarity with DAS/SCADA systems for monitoring and controlling solar PV systems (highly preferred).
- Medium Voltage (MV) experience is a significant plus.
- Familiarity with safety standards and best practices in the solar industry (OSHA, NEC, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel frequently within the New England area and occasionally out of state.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- NABCEP certification or equivalent industry certifications.
- Experience with remote monitoring platforms and advanced troubleshooting tools.
Work Location:
This is an on-the-road position, with frequent travel across MA, CT, VT, and occasional travel to IN & GA.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
Work Location: On the road
