First Land Services (FLS) specializes in community engagement, permitting support, stakeholder relations, and land acquisition for renewable energy, utility, infrastructure, and energy storage projects throughout the Midwest. As a growing, team-oriented company, we're seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support our employees and HR operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across multiple areas of Human Resources and wants to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative environment.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Human Resources Generalist will support a variety of HR functions, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and HR administration. This individual will work closely with company leadership to provide HR support while helping develop and improve HR processes that contribute to the continued growth of the organization.
We're looking for someone who is organized, approachable, and enjoys working with people. The ideal candidate is comfortable balancing multiple responsibilities, takes initiative, and enjoys building relationships while supporting a growing organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the full-cycle recruiting process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and offer preparation.
- Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop job descriptions.
- Coordinate new hire onboarding and employee offboarding.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of HR policies, procedures, and employee documentation.
- Serve as a resource for employees and managers on HR-related questions.
- Support employee relations by addressing workplace concerns and promoting a positive work environment.
- Maintain HR documentation, reporting, and employment records while ensuring confidentiality.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and enhance operational efficiency.
- Stay informed on changing employment regulations and HR best practices.
- Assist with special projects and other HR initiatives as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree.
- 3–5 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a generalist or similar HR role.
- Experience with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, employee relations, and HR compliance.
- Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR software.
- Familiarity with employee benefits administration.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent HR certification preferred.

Pay: $62,000.00 - $74,000.00 per year
