About Jackson Pilates
Jackson Pilates is a boutique reformer Pilates studio built for the neighborhood. We offer small-group classes focused on personalized attention, thoughtful instruction, and an inclusive, community-driven experience.
Our mission is simple: movement that meets you where you are.
We are proud to serve the diverse Jackson Heights community, with select classes offered in Spanish and plans to expand into prenatal, postpartum, and workshop-based programming.
The Role
We’re looking for experienced, engaging Reformer Pilates instructors to join our growing team. This is an opportunity to be part of a new studio from the ground up, shape the client experience, and build a loyal following.
Responsibilities
- Lead safe, effective, and engaging reformer Pilates classes (Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels)
- Provide hands-on corrections and personalized guidance within a small group setting
- Create a welcoming, inclusive environment for clients of all backgrounds and experience levels
- Arrive at least 15 minutes before class to prep the studio and greet clients
- Manage class flow, timing, and transitions confidently
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and studio space
- Communicate clearly with clients and staff
Qualifications
- Certified in Reformer Pilates (Balanced Body, BASI, STOTT, Peak, or equivalent)
- Prior teaching experience required (group classes preferred)
- Strong understanding of anatomy, alignment, and injury prevention
- Confident working with beginners and modifying for different ability levels
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Professional, reliable, and team-oriented

- Bilingual and multilingual instructors are strongly encouraged to apply. We currently offer classes in both Spanish and English and hope to continue expanding our programming to better reflect the diversity of the Jackson Heights community. We would especially love to connect with instructors who speak languages such as Arabic, Hindi, Gujarati, Mandarin, Cantonese, and more.
Schedule & Expectations
- Part-time, flexible scheduling (weekday and/or weekend availability)
- Classes may be scheduled in blocks
- Instructors are encouraged to build their own client following
Compensation & Structure
- Competitive per-class rate (commensurate with experience)
- 1099 independent contractor position
- Opportunities for growth as the studio expands (workshops, specialty programming, privates)

Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
