KSP BioScript is a growing occupational health and diagnostic testing company providing drug and alcohol testing, DNA collections, occupational health services, laboratory collections, and employer screening services.
We are seeking a dependable, professional, and detail-oriented Specimen Collector / Clinical Assistant to assist with daily clinic operations and client services.
Position Overview
The Specimen Collector / Clinical Assistant will perform specimen collections while helping maintain an organized, professional, and efficient clinic environment.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with patients and donors, is comfortable handling confidential information, and can balance clinical collection duties with administrative responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform DOT and Non-DOT urine drug screen collections
- Perform oral fluid collections
- Perform DNA/buccal swab collections
- Complete specimen labeling, documentation, and chain-of-custody procedures
- Prepare specimens for laboratory shipment and/or courier pickup
- Verify donor/client identification and testing authorization
- Assist clients with testing paperwork and consent forms
- Maintain accurate collection records
- Schedule and confirm appointments
- Answer phones and assist with general client inquiries
- Check clients in and out of the clinic
- Maintain testing supplies and monitor inventory
- Keep collection and patient areas clean, organized, and compliant
- Follow HIPAA, OSHA, bloodborne pathogen, and company safety procedures
- Assist with additional occupational health and diagnostic services as trained
- Provide general administrative support to KSP BioScript staff
Phlebotomy
Phlebotomy experience or certification is a PLUS, but not required.
Candidates with phlebotomy skills may also assist with:
- Blood specimen collections
- Laboratory kit collections
- Employer or occupational health blood draws
- Specialty laboratory collections
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Professional and dependable
- Comfortable working independently
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to follow strict collection and documentation procedures
- Comfortable working with urine, saliva, blood, and other clinical specimens
- Basic computer and administrative skills
- Ability to maintain patient and donor confidentiality
Preferred Experience
Experience in any of the following is strongly preferred:
- DOT or Non-DOT specimen collection
- Drug and alcohol testing
- Occupational health
- Medical assisting
- Phlebotomy
- Laboratory or clinical settings
- Patient registration or medical office administration
Previous collection experience is preferred but training may be available for the right candidate.
