Duties
- Responsible for thorough dishwashing using commercial-grade equipment, ensuring all utensils, cookware, and tableware are sanitized and ready for use
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as ingredient handling and portioning under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables, removing trash, and organizing dishware for efficient processing
- Operate kitchen equipment safely while adhering to health and safety standards
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of large pots, boxes of supplies, or bulk ingredients with proper technique
- Follow strict sanitation protocols to uphold food safety management standards throughout the shift
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Familiarity with food handling practices and sanitation procedures is advantageous
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Knowledge of kitchen health and safety standards, including proper knife skills and equipment operation
- Experience with banquet or large-scale food service environments is a plus but not mandatory
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen environment
