Overview
We are seeking professional and reliable Truck Drivers and Owner Operators to join our logistics team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for safely transporting freight in dedicated runs out and back to the state of Ohio in over-the-road (OTR) driving, Monday through Friday, getting home a couple of times during the week, and sometimes leaving out on a Sunday, while adhering to all federal and state regulations. The ideal candidate must have 10 years of flatbed or conestoga experience and live within 60 miles of Columbus, OH. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and experience with different types of cargo using flatbed trailers and conestoga's. The Truck Drivers will play a vital role in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the integrity of the company by showing our customers professionalism and kindness. Drivers will receive direct deposit for their pay on a weekly basis, no escrow up front, and fuel cards are offered to owner operators as well as company drivers.
Duties
- Operate tractor-trailers, including flatbeds and conestogas, in compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations.
- Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure efficient delivery schedules.
- Load and unload freight safely using manual handling techniques and proper equipment.
- Transport goods across long-distance routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes, ensuring timely deliveries.
- Maintain accurate documentation for shipments, including logs or ELD's in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route changes or delivery updates.
- Ensure proper securing of cargo to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the truck to ensure optimal operation.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of trailer operated.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and freight transportation.
- Knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and hazardous materials regulations.
- Experience with manual transmission trucks.
- Owner Operator's trucks must be in excellent condition and pass our inspections.
- Ability to operate GPS navigation systems effectively for route planning.
- Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling, load & unload procedures, and truck loading/unloading techniques.
- Safe driving record with experience in route driving across various terrains and conditions. No DUI's or Reckless Op violations on record.
- Ability to handle manual handling tasks safely and efficiently.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and compliance.
- Must meet all DOT requirements for commercial drivers, including passing pre-employment background checks and drug screenings.
