BKG Co., Inc. is a family-oriented plumbing and HVAC company located in Telford PA. We are seeking a dependable, motivated person to assist on our Insulation team. This is a great opportunity to build a long-term career in the trades with hands-on training and advancement opportunities. You’ll work alongside experienced pipefitters installing and maintaining piping systems for water, waste, hydronic, steam, and industrial processes.
The Insulation Technician should be reliable, eager to learn, self-motivated and mechanically inclined. You must be able to pass a background check, drug screen and possess a valid driver’s license.
What will you do as our Insulation Technician:
- Review and interpret blueprints, isometrics, and project specifications to plan insulation layouts
- Measure, cut, and shape insulation materials (fiberglass, mineral wood, foam board, spray foam) to fit pipes, ducts, tanks, and fittings
- Prepare surfaces and install wraps and jacketing
- Removal of prior insulation following EPA/OSHA guidelines
- Conduct thickness, density, and energy-loss inspections, document findings and corrective actions
- Coordinate with pipefitters, HVAC technicians, and project managers to sequence work and meet project milestones
- Maintain insulation-specific tools and equipment
- Complete daily reports, material take-offs, timecards, and job site safety checklists
What We’re Looking for in a Insulation Technician:
- Dependable, self-motivated, and mechanically inclined
- Willingness to learn and work in varying job-site conditions
- Basic problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to use hand and power tools and read a tape measure
Insulation Technician Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- OSHA experience preferred, but not required
- Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Experience (Not Required) for the Insulation Technician:
- Commercial or industrial, but not required
