About the Role
We are hiring an experienced Registered Nurse Emergency Room for a 13-week day shift assignment in Hilo, HI. This role supports a fast-paced 28-bed Emergency Department with trauma bays, behavioral health rooms, and cardiac monitor rooms. The nurse must be comfortable working in a high-volume, team-oriented emergency care environment.
Responsibilities
Provide direct emergency nursing care to patients.
Assess, triage, monitor, and respond to patient needs.
Support care in trauma, behavioral health, and cardiac-monitored rooms.
Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions.
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members.
Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC.
Support fast patient turnover while maintaining safe care standards.
Follow emergency department policies, safety standards, and clinical protocols.
Requirements
Active Hawaii Registered Nurse license required by start of assignment.
Candidates without an active Hawaii license must apply upon offer acceptance.
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience required.
BLS required.
ACLS required.
PALS required.
Procedural Sedation preferred.
TNCC preferred.
ENPC preferred.
EPIC experience preferred.
Holiday coverage required.
Must arrive the Thursday before start date for Friday employee health appointment.
