Position Overview
We are seeking professional, guest-focused individuals to join our Thermal Pub team as a Thermal Pub Host/Server. This role blends food preparation, drink preparation, and attentive guest service in a historic, one-of-a-kind setting. We are looking for people who truly want to take care of our guests — not just complete a transaction.
Every dish and drink is prepared precisely to our recipes, every time. This standard reflects the level of care we expect across the board: consistency, safety, and quality that guests notice and remember.
The Thermal Pub is open to guests daily from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., but shifts extend beyond those hours for opening food preparation and after-close cleaning and next-day prep. Weekend and holiday availability is required.
Schedule & Shift Availability
Shift times vary throughout the day based on resort and staffing needs. Some shifts start as early as 9:00 a.m. and include food preparation for the day ahead; others extend past the pub's 10:00 p.m. close to handle cleaning and prep for the next day. Weekend and holiday availability is required. Reliability and punctuality are essential — our team depends on staff arriving on time and ready to work their scheduled shifts.
Core Responsibilities
● Complete opening food preparation for the day ahead on assigned opening shifts.
● Complete closing cleaning and next-day prep after the pub closes on assigned closing shifts.
● Prepare food from the Thermal Pub menu precisely to recipe, every time.
● Serve prepared food to guests promptly, accurately, and attentively.
● Pour and prepare drinks from the menu precisely to recipe, following all OLCC requirements and resort safety guidelines.
● Create a warm, attentive atmosphere that puts guests first.
● Process guest payments and maintain accurate transaction records.
● Keep the pub area clean, organized, and guest-ready.
● Uphold all health, safety, and legal service regulations.
● Perform other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements
● Must be 21 years of age or older, required for the on-site drink preparation and pouring duties assigned to this position, consistent with Oregon OLCC requirements.
● Must possess a valid Oregon OLCC Alcohol Service Permit or be willing and eligible to obtain one before independently preparing or serving alcohol.
● Must possess a valid Oregon Food Handler Card or be willing and eligible to obtain one within the timeframe required by Oregon law and resort policy.
● Prior food service, bartending, or beverage preparation experience preferred.
● Working knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits helpful.
● Must be available to work assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays.
● Must comply with Hot Lake Springs Resort's dress code and drug and alcohol policies.
● Drug testing is part of the pre-employment hiring process.
Physical Requirements

● Ability to lift and carry up to 30-40 lbs (food, beverage supplies, and equipment).
● Ability to stand and remain on your feet for extended periods throughout the shift.
● Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions (pouring, plating, wiping down surfaces) throughout the shift.
● Manual dexterity sufficient to prepare food and beverages precisely and safely.
● Tolerance for exposure to hot surfaces, kitchen equipment, and cleaning products used in accordance with safety guidelines.

Thermal Pub Host/Servers are highly visible members of the resort team and are expected to maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance while on duty. Hot Lake Springs Resort provides uniform shirts for this position. Employees are expected to wear the provided uniform while working and follow the resort's established dress and grooming standards. Reasonable accommodations will be considered as required by applicable law.
Drug & Alcohol Policy
Hot Lake Springs Resort maintains a strict drug and alcohol policy for employees while on resort property or performing work on behalf of the resort. Employees must report to work fit for duty and remain able to safely and professionally perform their responsibilities throughout the shift.

Applicants must successfully complete the resort's required pre-employment drug screening as a condition of employment.
