Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble components according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Cook and plate dishes efficiently, maintaining consistency and presentation standards
- Assist with menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation methods
- Follow food safety protocols, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices
- Support catering events and special functions by preparing large quantities of food with precision
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and uphold quality standards during busy hours
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation, restaurant kitchens, or food industry roles preferred
- Knowledge of dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques required
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper food handling practices necessary
- Excellent cooking skills with an understanding of various culinary methods
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with menu planning, catering, serving, and food service operations is advantageous
