The Seagoville Police Department is seeking a skilled and composed Communications Technician to serve as the critical first point of contact in emergency and non-emergency situations. In this role, you are the calm voice in moments of crisis—the link that ensures officers, resources, and information come together when it matters most.
Our department operates within a newly remodeled and expanded facility designed to support continued growth, enhanced operations, and improved service delivery. As we continue to grow into this expanded space, we are building a strong team to support our evolving operational needs and strengthen our service to the community.
What You’ll Do
- Answer and manage E911 emergency and non-emergency calls
- Dispatch police units and coordinate real-time emergency responses
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation
- Provide administrative and operational support across multiple divisions
- Assist Patrol and Criminal Investigations Division (CID) as needed
- Adapt quickly and effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure situations
What We’re Looking For
- Strong communication and multitasking skills
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and professional during emergencies
- High attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping
- Dependability and flexibility with rotating schedules
- Basic computer proficiency and a minimum typing speed of 30 WPM
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Texas Driver’s License (Class C)
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, drug screening, and physical exam (including hearing and vision)
- Ability to obtain required State of Texas certifications (E911 Dispatcher, Records, etc.)
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time (40 hours per week)
- Rotating shifts required, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Overtime may be required based on operational needs
