About the Role
RBS Wig Studio is expanding its North American footprint! We are launching an elite, premium product showroom inside our Gaithersburg, MD satellite location to house our newest, high-end alternative hair collections.
We are seeking an autonomous, highly professional Medical Wig Consultant to lead this territory and help service a rapidly growing local pipeline of pre-vetted clients and consultation requests. This role is designed for an experienced independent professional with a background in hair replacement, restorative aesthetics, trichology, or healthcare who can combine deep clinical sensitivity with expert product consulting. You will guide clients experiencing hair loss due to chemotherapy, alopecia, or trichotillomania within a private, boutique environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Showroom Consultations: Conduct private, compassionate, 1-on-1 in-person consultations and cranial prosthesis fittings utilizing our on-site premium showroom display and sample inventory.
- Clinical Customization & Fittings: Take precise structural scalp measurements (The "Big 3") and provide education on cap constructions, hair ventilation densities, and proper system maintenance.
- Order Processing Support: Provide clients with itemized quotes and guide them through our standard insurance documentation framework (HCPCS coding and Letters of Medical Necessity) handled via our centralized backend team.
- Pipeline Coordination: Coordinate windows of availability with our centralized administrative hub to accept and service qualified local appointments scheduled directly onto your calendar.
- Compliance & Privacy: Maintain strict confidentiality, discretion, and full compliance with medical privacy (HIPAA) standards during all client-facing and digital administrative sessions.
Operational & Territory Requirements (Anti-Drama Clauses)
- Active Status Mandate: Candidates must maintain regular, reliable weekly availability windows on our booking platform. Territory assignments and client routing are preserved through active engagement; extended inactivity or repeatedly declining local client bookings will result in territory reassignment.
- Strict Communication SLA: RBS operates in a critical, time-sensitive medical ecosystem serving oncology patients. Consultants are required to maintain a professional responsiveness standard, responding to all corporate communications (calls, texts, or emails) within 48 business hours.
- Milestone-Based Showroom Access: To protect company assets, your onboarding into the premium display suite will be authorized only after you have successfully completed our internal Certification Quiz, digital office workspace login, and live corporate onboarding call.
- Independent Contractor Status: As an Independent Contractor, you are responsible for maintaining your own independent professional structure, relevant local business licenses, and individual tax filings.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in alternative hair systems, wig styling, cosmetology, trichology, or medical spa consulting.
- Empathy & Professionalism: Proven ability to work with extreme sensitivity, dignity, and empathy in emotionally delicate medical and hair loss situations.
- Language: English (Required)
- Base Uniform: Must provide your own professional, solid black medical scrubs for all client-facing office sessions (RBS embroidered branding options available upon contract signing).
