6 Star Trucking Inc. is seeking an experienced Semi-Truck Dispatcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of truck-dispatching experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to coordinate drivers and loads efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Dispatch semi-truck drivers and assign loads
- Plan routes and coordinate pickup and delivery schedules
- Communicate with drivers, customers, brokers, and shippers
- Track drivers, trucks, loads, and delivery progress
- Provide drivers with load details, addresses, appointment times, and special instructions
- Monitor hours of service and help drivers remain compliant
- Handle delays, breakdowns, scheduling conflicts, and other transportation issues
- Complete rate confirmations, bills of lading, and other dispatch paperwork
- Maintain accurate records of loads, driver activity, and customer communication
- Negotiate and book loads when needed
- Assist with general office and administrative duties related to dispatch operations
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of semi-truck dispatching experience
- Knowledge of trucking operations, freight coordination, and driver scheduling
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using computers, email, dispatch software, load boards, and GPS tracking systems
- Dependable, professional, and able to work independently
Both full-time and part-time positions may be available. Compensation will be based on experience and discussed during the interview.
