The Assistant Manager is expected to work alongside the GM and management
team to oversee all aspects of restaurant operation. This may include, but is not
limited to:
Interviewing, Hiring, Scheduling and Training Employees
Ensuring food and drinks are served to the specs set by Black Bear
ownership
Managing day-to-day business, labor costs, and staff/customer issues
Contributing to the growth of the business through exceptional customer
service, creating promotional events and growing social media engagement
Maintaining a positive work environment
Using a proactive management style to anticipate any needs or problems
that may arise
Effectively and efficiently delegating tasks to staff and shift leads
Managing inventory/ordering while seeking better or more cost-effective
options
Responsibilities:
- Assist in daily operations and management of the restaurant
- Oversee and manage stock levels, ensuring inventory is well-stocked and
organized
- Provide excellent customer service, assisting customers with their inquiries and
purchases
- Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate cash handling procedures
- Ensuring accurate recording of employee hours and wages
- Collaborate with the general manager to develop and implement effective sales
strategies
- Manage shifts and schedules to ensure adequate staffing coverage
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment
- Answer phone calls and handle customer inquiries with professionalism and
courtesy
Skills:
- Restaurant management experience, including knowledge of inventory
management, customer service, problem resolution, and sales techniques
- Strong selling skills, with the ability to upsell products and meet sales targets
- Proficient in cash handling procedures, including counting money, making
change, and processing transactions accurately
- Experience in shift management, including assigning tasks and overseeing
employee performance
- Excellent phone etiquette, with the ability to communicate effectively over the
phone
- Knowledge of Point of Sale systems and accurate ordering processes
- Multilingual abilities are a plus, as it allows for effective communication with a
diverse customer base
