ESS Clinical is seeking a dedicated and highly qualified Special Education Teacher to support students in Jeffco Public Schools during the 2026–2027 school year. The teacher will provide specially designed instruction, implement IEPs, monitor student progress, and collaborate with families, general education teachers, administrators, and related-service providers.
Pay starting at $52/hr
No non-competes in our contracts
- Provide individualized and small-group special education instruction.
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals.
- Serve as an IEP case manager as assigned.
- Participate in IEP, eligibility, and student-support meetings.
- Provide accommodations and modifications.
- Monitor and document student progress.
- Implement positive behavior-support strategies.
- Maintain accurate special education records and student data.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, families, and related-service providers.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Follow Jeffco Public Schools, Colorado Department of Education, and ESS Clinical policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Completion of an approved teacher preparation program, as applicable.
- Valid Colorado teaching license with the appropriate Special Education endorsement.
- Knowledge of special education laws, IDEA, IEP development, and progress monitoring.
- Ability to provide specially designed instruction and differentiate instruction.
- Strong classroom-management, communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
- Successful completion of required background and fingerprint screening.
- Successful completion of ESS Clinical and Jeffco Public Schools onboarding requirements.
A valid Colorado teacher license with the appropriate Special Education endorsement is required.
For a general Special Education Teacher assignment, the primary applicable endorsement is:
Special Education Generalist – Ages 5–21
Colorado requires a Colorado license or authorization for employment as a teacher in a Colorado public school, and the credential must be endorsed for the appropriate developmental level and specialization.
Colorado's current requirements for the Special Education Generalist (ages 5–21) endorsement include completion of an approved special education preparation program or qualifying coursework and required content assessments, including:
- Praxis 5355 – Foundations of Special Education, passing score 145
- Praxis 5903 – Elementary Mathematics, passing score 157
- Praxis 5205 – Teaching Reading, passing score 159
Certain existing Colorado license holders may qualify for applicable exam waivers or alternative pathways.
