Job description: Manager, Court Reporting Operations
The Manager will have responsibility for running day-to-day operations of court reporting
division, including the supervision of 5-10 employees.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Oversee daily operations of court reporting division including scheduling, obtaining
reporters, processing transcript documents, ensuring jobs are completed on a timely
basis and delivered to clients, and billing of jobs on a timely basis.
- Oversee maintenance and storage of Court Reporter records
- Lead, coach and develop staff
- Interface with clients on a daily basis to ensure jobs are completed accurately and
questions and concerns are dealt with promptly
- Ensure client and employee satisfaction
- Implement strategies across the Court Reporting business that drive efficiency and scale
- Ensure standardized approach to all operational workflows & processes
- Identify and remove operational roadblocks
- Work with Executive Team to identify opportunities to improve operational functions –
improving efficiency and profitability
- Ensure the development and implementation of training programs and documentation
for existing staff and the onboarding of new team members
- Ensure financial, productivity and gross margin goals are achieved
- Reviews and approves court reporter billings, appeal notices and work extension
requests; reconciles claims with assignment records.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of: Supervisory principles, practices and techniques; laws, program management
practices; English grammar, spelling, filing and arithmetic; modern office methods, procedures,
terms, and equipment.
Knowledge of local rules and practice relating to court reporting and transcription, legal
terminology, court operations and courtroom procedures all considered a plus.
Ability to:
- Assess the complexity and difficulty of assignments; plan, organize and manage program
operations;
- supervise, train, and review the work of others;
- make sound and objective decisions;
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, peers and the
public.
Education/Experience:
Five (5) years’ experience managing a process driven production and/or administrative function.
Pay: $35.00 - $42.00 per hour
