Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Substance Abuse Groups Leader to spearhead group therapy sessions and support recovery initiatives for individuals battling addiction and behavioral health challenges. Duties
- Lead and facilitate structured group therapy sessions focused on substance abuse treatment, mental health counseling, and behavioral health management.
- Employ techniques such as motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and applied behavior analysis to promote client engagement and progress.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including intake evaluations, diagnostic evaluations using ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, and ongoing case management.
- Collaborate with clinical team members to develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate trauma-informed care, PTSD management, and family counseling when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including progress notes, treatment plans, and medical records.
- Utilize crisis intervention skills to manage acute behavioral or mental health crises effectively while ensuring client safety.
- Collect data for research purposes and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives within the behavioral health program.
Experience
- Proven experience in group therapy facilitation within behavioral health or addiction treatment settings.
- Strong background in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, and social work practices.
- Demonstrated expertise in addiction counseling, crisis management, and case management strategies tailored to diverse populations.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation standards, ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10), and CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Experience working in hospital or home & community care environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care approaches including PTSD care and crisis intervention techniques.
- Ability to assess patient needs through diagnostic evaluation and provide comprehensive individual or group counseling sessions aligned with clinical best practices.
