Custodial Student Employment
Salary: $12.00- $13.00
I. Position Purpose
Hocking College is seeking dependable and motivated student employees to join the Facilities Department under Custodial Services. This position supports the overall cleanliness, safety, and appearance of campus facilities. It is an excellent introductory employment opportunity for students seeking to gain work experience while contributing to the campus community.
II. Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with general custodial needs across various campus facilities.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, washing windows, and sweeping.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, and floors.
- Restock restroom and facility supplies such as paper towels, soap, and tissue.
- Empty trash and recycling containers.
- Maintain cleanliness of classrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas.
- Follow established cleaning procedures and safety guidelines.
- Report maintenance concerns or safety hazards to a supervisor.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
III. Qualifications – Education, Experience, and Skills
- Must be currently enrolled as a full-time Hocking College student.
- Must meet federal requirements for Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
- Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated initiative and strong work ethic.
- Dependable, punctual, and responsible.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, bending, lifting, and walking for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a variety of campus environments.
- Willingness and ability to complete all required training and professional development assigned by the supervisor, Human Resources, or the College.
