We are looking for Registered Nurses to care for our patients and facilitate in their speedy recovery for our ambulatory surgery center. Our nurses will be trained in several positions; pre-op, post op and circulator. Currently this job is part-time on Thursday and Fridays with the option to pick up a shift as needed Monday-Wednesday.
We are seeking a qualified nurses for Pre-Op/PACU Nurses to administer diligent care to outpatients via monitoring, assessment, intervention, and continuous reassessment. The PACU nurse will provide care for post-operative patients recovering from anesthesia. The RN Circulator manages all the necessary care inside the surgery room, assisting the team in maintaining and creating a comfortable, safe environment for the patient and observing the team from a wide perspective. He or she must ensure all surgical team members perform in a unified effort.
The ideal candidate will be a responsible and well-trained professional able to give the best nursing care with little supervision with the willingness to cross train. We are looking for a compassionate, cool-tempered and able to follow health and safety guidelines faithfully and consistently. The goal is to promote patient’s well-being by providing high quality nursing care in fast pace environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, instruct & prepare patients prior to surgery
- Ensure that operative and informed consents are signed and correct
- Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure
- Initiate IVs and ensure patients are informed about procedure
- Assess patients’ post-operative condition
- Monitor vital signs and other measurements of progress, meeting discharge criteria
- Log all findings in patient files
- Answer patient questions and ensure patient comfort
- Monitor patients for condition changes, reporting any changes to physician
- Perform intervention duties during post-operative emergencies
Skills
- Proven experience as a registered nurse
- Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
- Excellent knowledge of emergency care
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) and willingness to follow them at all times
- A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Responsible and compassionate
- Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Patient with excellent problem-solving skills
- BSc or other diploma from a nursing program
- Valid nursing license
