Colfax-Mingo High School is seeking an energetic, visionary, and relationship-driven Head Softball Coach to lead our program beginning with the Spring 2027 season. About Our District
Colfax-Mingo Community School District has invested over 14 million dollars in facility upgrades, demonstrating a strong commitment to student success in academics and athletics. Our student-athletes benefit from modern, high-quality facilities designed to promote excellence, safety, and school pride. This includes a dedicated indoor hitting facility for baseball and softball located adjacent to the ballfields, along with updated training and competition spaces and well-maintained playing surfaces. Position Responsibilities
Lead and oversee all aspects of the high school baseball program.
Develop and implement effective practice plans and competitive game strategies.
Promote a positive culture aligned with the mission and values of Colfax-Mingo Community Schools.
Support the academic, athletic, and personal growth of student-athletes.
Supervise and mentor assistant coaches.
Collaborate with the athletic department and school administration.
Manage program logistics including equipment, scheduling, communication, and organization.
Ensure compliance with all school, conference, and IHSAA regulations.
Prepare and maintain the infield for practices and games.
Qualifications
Prior coaching experience preferred. Head coaching experience at the high school level is a plus.
Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals, player development, and game management.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff.
Valid Iowa Coaching Authorization or ability to obtain prior to the season.
