Job Overview: The Warehouse Associate, Material Handler is an entry level position in the shipping and receiving department.
Principal Responsibilities:
· Receive incoming materials, verify quantities against packing slips or purchase orders, and promptly report discrepancies or damage
· Accurately inventory materials into applicable inventory tracking systems
· Maintain accurate material labeling, lot identification, and inventory locations to support traceability and timely production flow
· Oversee the flow of raw materials from deliveries into production
· Prepare, stage, and organize materials for production, shipping, or storage in accordance with established procedures and/or supervisor direction
· Use appropriate tools i.e. forklift, pallet jack and hand trucks to transport materials to production areas
· Assist with cycle counts, physical inventory, and investigation of inventory variances as needed
· Follow all safety procedures when operating material handling equipment, including required inspections and safe load handling practices
· Maintain an organized and clean warehouse
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· 1+ year(s) of warehouse experience required
· Ability to accurately enter, scan, and reconcile inventory information in warehouse or ERP systems
· Experience working with bar code scanning systems preferred
· Proficient computer skills
· Knowledge of machines, tools and computers
· Ability to understand mathematical applications, ex. measurement, logic, etc.
· Valid driver’s license or certification
· Forklift certification preferred, or ability to obtain certification upon hire
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/roll 300 – 800 pounds with pallet jack
· Must be able to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces and reach, twist, bend and stretch when required
· Excellent hand-eye coordination and acute depth perception
· Ability to decipher colors
· Good command of the English language; ability to effectively read and write
· Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills and ability to work with a wide range of professions and personalities
· Commitment to following workplace safety practices, company procedures, and quality standards
· Detail-oriented
· Must be able to pass pre-employment screening, including drug testing
Pay: From $17.50 per hour
