We have opportunities available in two of our signature programs, both located @ Carkeek Park. We have our Indoor ELC Classroom: Focuses on creative play, structured learning activities, and social-emotional development within our traditional classroom setting.
Outdoor Nature-Based Program: Focuses on exploration, environmental stewardship, and active outdoor learning / play.
Position Summary: As a Part-Time After-School Teacher(Pre-school), you’ll lead engaging and developmentally appropriate activities that encourage creativity, cooperation, and confidence. You’ll help maintain a consistent routine, guide social-emotional learning moments, and ensure children feel supported and safe. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with children in a relaxed, afternoon setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead a variety of after-school activities including arts, games, group projects, and quiet time
- Supervise children to ensure safety and positive group dynamics
- Support social and emotional development through conversation and modeling
- Communicate with families and co-workers in a respectful, timely manner
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom space
- Follow all licensing requirements and school policies
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children in group settings (preschool or school-age)
- Energetic, patient, and creative with a love for children
- Dependable and professional, with strong communication skills
- Ability to collaborate and adapt to a dynamic team environment
- Must meet DCYF requirements (background check, TB test, etc.)
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire)
What We Offer:
