American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Step Down position requiring at least one year of experience, Epic proficiency, and tracheostomy care experience.

Hospital-based Med/Surg Step Down unit

Step down patient population with cases ranging from simple to complex complexity

Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)

Epic EMR experience required

13-week contract

Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or eNLC compact license) required

Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required

Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required

Step down experience required; ICU experience preferred

Tracheostomy care experience required

Epic EMR proficiency required

Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, documenting nursing interventions, administering medications, monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and coordinating discharge planning with patients and families

Delegates tasks to support staff and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members

Compliance requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must be completed promptly — this facility strictly enforces compliance deadlines and does not negotiate start dates

Candidates who have previously worked at this facility are eligible to apply but may only extend once, for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before re-engagement after 26 weeks
