Position Overview
Village Green Landscapes is seeking an experienced and organized Project Manager to join our growing team. This role is critical to the successful execution of our landscape installation projects, including new plantings, hardscaping, irrigation systems, turf installation, and full-site transformations. You will work closely with field crews (including Spanish-speaking team members), clients, and ownership to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the high standards our clients expect.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities (bilingual English/Spanish is a plus), and a passion for high-quality landscaping.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee landscape installation projects from start to finish, including scheduling, material procurement, crew assignments, and progress tracking.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the installation phase—providing clear updates, managing expectations, and ensuring exceptional client satisfaction.
- Lead and support installation crews in the field: conduct daily/weekly briefings, monitor work quality, enforce safety protocols, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Read and interpret landscape plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate execution.
- Manage project budgets, track costs (labor, materials, equipment), and work with ownership to maintain profitability.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and municipal inspectors for permits and approvals.
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including photos, daily logs, change orders, and punch lists.
- Conduct site visits and pre-installation meetings to verify conditions and plan logistics.
- Enforce company safety standards and best practices on every job site.
- Assist with material take-offs, ordering, and delivery coordination.
- Support the transition from installation to maintenance hand-off with the maintenance team.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in landscape project management or related construction/project management roles (landscaping or horticulture preferred).
- Strong knowledge of landscape installation practices, including plant material, irrigation systems, grading/drainage, hardscaping, and turf installation.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budgets.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (company vehicle may be provided for job use).
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs when needed on-site.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred due to our field crew composition.
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Jobber, Aspire, or similar), Google Workspace/Microsoft Office, and basic estimating software is a plus.
