Join our dedicated team as a School-Based Physical Therapist, where you will play a vital role in supporting the health, mobility, and overall well-being of students within the educational environment. As a key member of our school health team, you will provide expert physiotherapy services tailored to pediatric needs, ensuring students receive comprehensive support to thrive academically and socially.
Duties
- Conduct thorough assessments of students’ physical abilities, mobility, and functional limitations within the school setting.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans that address specific needs related to pediatrics, orthopedics, geriatrics or other relevant areas.
- Deliver targeted physiotherapy interventions such as trigger point therapy, gait training, and posture correction to improve student outcomes.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and facilitate seamless discharge planning for students transitioning between settings.
- Assist with discharge planning and follow-up care for students returning from acute care or inpatient hospital stays.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care using electronic medical record (EMR) systems while adhering to confidentiality standards.
- Provide education on physiotherapy techniques, injury prevention, and home & community care strategies to students and their families.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to pediatric populations and various age groups including geriatrics.
- Proven experience in outpatient clinics, home health environments, or school health programs with a focus on patient care.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical procedures related to orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and trigger point therapy.
- Ability to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual student needs across inpatient, outpatient, hospital experience or home & community care settings.
- Proficiency in using EMR systems for documentation and communication purposes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams including educators and healthcare providers.

Pay: $34.41 - $49.57 per hour
