Overview

Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to set up CNC machines accurately.
- Program CNC lathes and milling machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software, ensuring precise tool paths and operations.
- Prepare and install tooling, fixtures, and cutting tools on CNC equipment, including Fanuc-controlled machines.
- Perform machine setups, calibrations, and adjustments to optimize machining processes for plastics injection molding, metal parts, or other materials.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Conduct troubleshooting on CNC equipment, including electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to lean manufacturing principles for efficiency.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and welding equipment as needed for tooling changes or assembly tasks.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC Set Up Operator or in a similar manufacturing role with knowledge of CNC programming and machine operation.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawing interpretation.
- Proficiency with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks or similar programs is preferred.
- Familiarity with CNC controls like Fanuc or other common systems used in milling and turning centers.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements.
- Knowledge of various manufacturing processes including plastics injection molding, welding, and assembly techniques.
- Experience with precision measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMMs.
- Mechanical aptitude combined with problem-solving skills to troubleshoot machine issues quickly.
- Valid forklift certification is a plus; willingness to operate forklifts safely in the warehouse environment.
- Strong safety awareness and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment in accordance with industry standards.
