Performs work in the areas of neighborhood services and community organizing to assist with providing support to neighborhood associations and those seeking to create associations, implementing marketing strategies, and tracking community feedback.
Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in community development, urban planning, communications, or a related field and experience with website design and marketing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must have a general knowledge of Winston-Salem neighborhoods; the ability to work with a diverse population and interest group; have presentation and organizational skills; have strong verbal communication skills, professional critical thinking skills, and effective problem solver; proficient in Microsoft Office Suites, Adobe, and website management and design.
Physical Requirements:
This work requires the frequent exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, tasting or smelling, pushing or pulling and repetitive motions, frequently requires standing, walking and lifting and occasionally requires climbing or balancing; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work regularly requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
