About the Role
Are you a driven leader who wants to make a lasting impact in your community? The Conquistador Council of Scouting America is hiring a District Manager / District Executive to lead youth-serving programs across Southeastern New Mexico.
This role is ideal for highly motivated, community-minded individuals who thrive on building relationships, achieving goals, and making a difference.
You’ll serve as the key connector between the council and the volunteers, families, schools, and organizations that deliver Scouting programs locally. From growing membership to launching new partnerships, you’ll lead with purpose and see real outcomes from your work.
Key Responsibilities
- Build partnerships with schools, nonprofits, businesses, and faith-based organizations.
- Recruit, inspire, and support volunteers to lead Scouting programs.
- Achieve goals in membership growth, volunteer development, fundraising, and program delivery.
- Plan and support events, trainings, and activities that provide exceptional Scouting experiences.
- Serve as a visible leader in your community and a reliable resource to volunteers and families.
- Maintain clear communication, uphold high ethical standards, and work flexibly as needed (evenings and weekends are common).
- Live within the district/service area you serve.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $44,000
- Annual Performance Bonus: Up to $5,000
- Business mileage reimbursement at the IRS rate
- Phone allowance: $40/month
- Paid Time Off (PTO): 24 days annually, increasing with tenure

Estimated Total Compensation Value: $55,000–$59,000 annually
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (transcript required upon hire), or equivalent qualifying professional or military experience.
- At least 21 years old.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Must live in or relocate to the assigned service area before employment begins (housing not provided).
- Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Must meet Scouting America’s leadership and membership standards and subscribe to the Scout Oath and Law.
- Offers are contingent upon successful background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Sales, nonprofit, fundraising, or community organizing experience.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English).
- Public speaking or teaching experience.
- Prior involvement in Scouting is helpful, but not required.
