Responsible for performing a variety of support functions that facilitate the purchase of supplies, receiving supplies, stocking supplies in central supply, and delivering supplies to various departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Submit orders by contacting appropriate vendors.

Receive and unload incoming deliveries from vendors and carriers.

Verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices for accuracy.

Communicate with vendors to verify pricing, inquire about available stock, and expedite orders.

Interface regularly with hospital departments to resolve any issues pertaining to central supply.

Verify that merchandise matches the item file description and unit of measure.

Label, store, and organize supplies according to established procedures.

Monitor stock levels and communicate inventory shortages to the Materials Management Director.

Assist departments with questions regarding incorrect, incomplete, or damaged merchandise.

Maintain department files, logs, and other department records.

Deliver supplies to appropriate departments in a timely and efficient manner.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and carts safely.

Assist with physical inventories and audits as required.

Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, infection control practices, and regulatory requirements.

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE: One year experience in materials management or related field preferred.
PERSONAL JOB-RELATED SKILLS: Knowledge of materials management systems. Effective oral and written communication skills. Familiar with operating computers and ability to utilize computer systems.
LICENSURE, REGISTRY, CERTIFICATIONS: Valid state driver’s license required.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Travel is required and reimbursed at the prevailing IRS business mileage rate. Duties of the position requires moderate periods of sitting, standing, and walking and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Pushing and pulling carts, bending, stooping, and reaching to store or remove items from shelves and carts. The ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions and directions.
