Radin Consulting, Inc., a transportation planning and design firm, is looking for a full-time Safety Manager working on transit projects in the New Jersey / New York Metropolitan Area. Salary will be based on qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits are included. No recruiters, please.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills
· 10+ years' experience implementing, monitoring, and managing safety for heavy civil construction programs/projects.
· Experience in employee engagement and soliciting feedback to create change.
· Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
· Proficiency in project management software and tools.
· OSHA 30.
· An open mind with the ability to adapt to meet the needs of the work and personnel changes.
· Experience supporting/supervising safety professionals.
· Experience in Federal Transit Agency projects.
· Relevant degree in Environmental, Health and/or Safety Science. (Certified Safety Professional (CSP) / Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) )
· Familiarity with transit agencies (Such as PANYNJ, NJT, MTA, LIRR, Amtrak).
· Experience in Tunnel projects preferred
Responsibilities
· Enforce, monitor, and document the construction safety and environmental safety and security requirements for the contractors; provide all necessary documents, information, and monthly reports.
· Work closely with field staff and contractors to ensure their understanding of their responsibilities with respect to safety and conduct regular daily safety surveys.
· Attend project-related meetings including, but not limited to, project meetings occurring in the field or where it is required.
· Directs, implements, evaluates, and administers the construction safety and industrial safety and the occupational safety and safety training aspects of the Authority's comprehensive System Safety Program Plan.
· Determines the adequacy of maintenance safety practices and procedures in assuring the desired level of system safety, and recommends any necessary policy and procedure changes.
· Performs comprehensive investigations of construction accidents/incidents to identify root causes, determine facts, recommend appropriate corrective actions, and develop effective preventive measures.
· Supervises investigations performed by staff.
Pay: $135,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
