Job Summary
The Rooftop Nightlife Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the venue’s operations, with a strong focus on nightlife, guest experience, financial performance, and staff development. This role requires strong leadership in managing a high-energy rooftop bar and lounge, ensuring seamless service, engaging entertainment, and an exceptional atmosphere.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operations & Financial Oversight
· Be accountable for all facets of the operation, ensuring smooth and profitable nightly service.
· Conduct shift walkthroughs to assess staffing, maintenance, cleanliness, zoning, and any special needs.
· Oversee financial aspects such as revenue tracking, cost control, labor management, and inventory.
· Participate in monitor opening/closing checklists, including sanitation, bar setup, and security procedures.
· Identify and communicate inventory and equipment needs, ensuring adequate prep levels based on business trends.
· Maintain compliance with liquor laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
Guest Experience & Nightlife Atmosphere
· Create and maintain a high-energy, welcoming nightlife ambiance, including lighting, music, temperature, and decor.
· Oversee VIP services, bottle service programs, and guest reservations to maximize revenue and service efficiency.
· Engage with high-profile clientele, ensuring a seamless and exclusive experience.
· Address guest concerns quickly and courteously to maintain high satisfaction levels.
· Manage and support the security team, ensuring guest safety and compliance with venue policies.
Entertainment & Event Management
· Collaborate with DJs, promoters, entertainers, and marketing teams to develop and execute successful event programming.
· Work closely with marketing and PR teams to create promotions, special events, and social media campaigns.
· Ensure all collateral is produced by Oxford creative team. Outside promotions may not use their own collateral without prior authorization and approval from brand leadership.
· Ensure seamless execution of themed nights, private events, and bottle service experiences.
Staff Leadership & Development
· Hire, train, and develop a high-performing team of bartenders, servers, hosts, and security personnel.
· Lead by example, fostering a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and exceptional service.
· Conduct pre-shift meetings to align staff on nightly goals, VIP guests, and special events.
· Address and document employee performance issues, providing coaching and corrective actions when necessary.
· Schedule and manage staff shifts to balance labor costs while maintaining exceptional service.
Compliance & Safety
· Ensure compliance with all alcohol service laws, health codes, and venue policies.
· Monitor guest behavior and responsibly manage liquor service, identifying and handling intoxicated guests as needed.
· Work with security personnel to prevent and address any disturbances or safety concerns.
Accountabilities & Performance Expectations
· Document key nightly details in shift reports, reviewing them daily for operational insights.
· Analyze sales data, guest feedback, and industry trends to make necessary adjustments.
· Participate in management meetings, sharing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Skills
· Minimum 3 years of management experience in a high-volume nightclub, rooftop bar, or hospitality venue.
· Strong knowledge of bar operations, mixology, and beverage cost controls.
· Experience in VIP clientele management, bottle service programs, and nightlife promotions.
· Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and team-building skills.
· Financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
· Proficiency with POS systems (Micros, Toast, or similar), reservation platforms (Tock, Open Table, or similar), and event ticketing platforms (EventBrite or similar).
· Ability to work late nights, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
· Knowledge of current nightlife trends, music, and entertainment strategies.
· Experience working with DJs, promoters, and event marketing teams.
· Certification in responsible alcohol service (TIPS, ServSafe Alcohol, etc.).
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a shift.
· Safely transport items up to 50 lbs.
· Navigate staircases, corridors, and dimly lit environments.
