Fort Bend Christian Academy is accepting applications from qualified candidates for the MS Drama Teacher for the 2026-27 academic year. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching theater, producing, and/or directing theater arts or theatrical productions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and discipling young adults in secondary education. The MS Drama Teacher will work closely with the Director of Fine Arts and report to the Head of Middle School.

Professional
- Hold at minimum a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the subject taught or a closely related field as approved by the division administration; graduate degrees are preferred. Knowledge of stagecraft and choreography, an advanced degree, and connections in the greater Houston metro area theater community will be considered a plus.
- Demonstrate appropriate subject-matter knowledge and effectiveness in teaching while maintaining appropriate classroom discipline.
- Possess the biblical knowledge needed to integrate Scripture into all subjects, imparting both biblical literacy and Christian faith to students.

- Pursue continuous professional growth and development.
Individual Practices, Skills & Abilities
- Work closely with the Director of Fine Arts and the Head of Middle School to articulate a vision and direction for the Middle School Theater program.
- Direct and supervise the Middle School Musical.
- Direct and supervise the JTF Performance and travel.
- Teach Middle School classes, including but not limited to Musical Theater, Theater, and Praise and Worship.
- Work closely as needed with the Head of Middle School on special chapels and other programming, such as 8th grade retreat.
- Teach, supervise, direct, and evaluate students in grade(s) and subject(s) as defined by the administration in a manner consistent with a Christian education and the philosophies of Fort Bend Christian Academy.
- Model and promote exceptional academic instruction and learning.
- Facilitate and maintain a safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Stimulate higher-level reasoning and critical thinking among students in the classroom.
- Maintain communication with students and parents in a timely and professional manner.
- Be available to help outside of the classroom, such as the Middle School fall musical.
Pay: $59,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
