We are seeking a traveling Medical Assistant who will be responsible for providing clinical and patient care support duties across multiple facilities including Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Thousand Oaks . The ideal candidate is flexible, highly organized, and able to adapt to different environments while maintaining high-quality care standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care and Clinical Support:
- Travel to different healthcare facilities or clinics to assist with patient exams, procedures, and treatments.
- Prepare prepare patient exam rooms and room patients.
- May assist physicians or healthcare providers during exams, minor procedures, and treatments.
- Prepare biopsy specimens and send them to labs for processing.
- Provide patients with post-procedure care. documents.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Schedule patient appointments, including appointment confirmations and follow-up visits across multiple locations.
- Update and maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Experience with ezDerm is highly desireable.
- Handle patient inquiries.
- Ensure that all necessary documentation, including consent forms and medical histories, is complete and accurate.
- Check patient eligibility and benefits.
- Assist with authorizations and referrals.
- Steralize medical equipment using the autoclave.
Inventory and Supplies Management:
- Ensure proper stocking of medical supplies and equipment at each location, coordinating with staff to manage inventory.
- Transport and set up medical equipment at various sites as required for patient care and procedures.
- Maintain proper disposal of medical waste, adhering to health and safety guidelines at each location.
Coordination and Communication:
- Work closely with healthcare teams at various locations to ensure smooth workflow and patient care.
- Communicate with administrative and clinical staff to coordinate travel schedules and assignments.
- Serve as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, ensuring that patient needs are met promptly and efficiently.
- Adapt quickly to different clinic environments, protocols, and procedures, providing seamless support to healthcare teams.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, safety protocols, and infection control practices at each site.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times, adhering to HIPAA guidelines and other legal regulations.
- Follow all clinic-specific policies, procedures, and standards to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Travel and Flexibility:
- Travel between multiple clinic locations as assigned, with varying schedules depending on clinic needs.
- Be flexible with hours and shifts depending on patient volume and clinic hours.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance. Reliable transportation for travel between healthcare facilities.
- 1-2 years previous experience as a Front/Back Office Medical Assistant in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
- Must be Spanish/English bilingual.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage tasks across multiple locations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients and healthcare providers.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate flexibility, and adapt to different clinic environments.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
