Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Transfer work in progress loads to the designated location for that product. Locate and stage materials needed for both the Cutting and Finishing department. Complete all procedures and documentation related to shipping, staging and receiving while abiding all company and customer policies and procedures.
- Designated areas include:
- Observe and follow all forklift safety procedures
- Wait for the wave
- Stopping and sounding horn at all intersections
- Load/unload department lines
- Move loads on quality hold to sorting area
- Flip loads as needed
- Ferry loads to other departments as needed
- Scan all materials to correct location in real time
- Stage material needed for designated department
- Stage upcoming material for the sheeting department
- Return unneeded materials to warehouse
- Assist department operators as needed
- Other duties assigned.
- Assist other shipping areas/departments as required
- Report damaged goods to CI
- Mentor/training others to perform this job duty
- Perform Daily Housekeeping tasks
- Daily forklift inspection
- Sweeping designated department/area
- Emptying recycling bins
- Cleaning up FIFO lanes
- Blow out the forklift at the start of shift.
- Change lift truck battery as needed
- Paint lift trucks as needed
- Replace walkway lines as needed
- Paint yellow poles as needed
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be able to pass the forklift certification
- Self-Motivated
- Spatial Awareness – Knowing the location of yourself and forklift in relation to your surroundings.
- Depth Perception – Ability to judge the distance between yourself and objects in the immediate area.
- Organizational skills
- Work well with others while being open to giving and receiving critiques
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous Forklift experience preferred
- Prior manufacturing experience
- Work with others to help improve efficiency in various tasks
In the event of absence, the Printing and/or Warehouse Drivers would backfill this role.
The candidate must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without a reasonable accommodation. Graphic Packaging retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position.
Physical Demands: Must be in good physical condition.
- Proper lifting techniques.
- More than 50 lbs requires a team lift.
- Bend at the knee
- Requires extended amounts of time sitting, walking, standing and lifting.
- Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
- Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
- Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
- Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
- Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
