The Junior Analyst runs end-to-end testing across Astric's platforms, writes defect reports developers can act on immediately, and turns vendor and program research into answers people can use. Because the role is on-site part of the week, you'll also spend time at the counter with members which is where you'll see how the systems actually behave in practice. Hybrid role based in Conroe with a structured 90-day ramp and a defined path into the Analyst track.
About the role
Astric operates member-facing business locations offering workspace, mail and shipping, print, and business services. Behind those locations sits a mix of purpose-built and off-the-shelf systems — member-facing platforms, internal operations tooling, point-of-sale and shipping software, third-party integrations, and access control.
The Junior Analyst finds out whether any of it works before anyone external does.
About half the role is testing and quality: running end-to-end test scripts, writing defect reports a developer can act on with no follow-up, maintaining the improvement tracker, and verifying that data created in one system lands correctly in the ones downstream. The other half is applied research: mapping the system landscape, reading vendor and carrier documentation accurately, and supporting program applications by tracking requirements and deadlines.
This role also spends time on the floor with members. The fastest way to find out where a system breaks is to watch someone use it under real conditions.
We're looking for someone methodical enough to try the unhappy path, and whose written output stands on its own.
What success looks like
This role is Band 1 in Astric's published compensation and growth framework — the entry band of the Analyst track, with Analyst and Senior Analyst defined above it. Every band has written expectations, so you'll always know what the next one requires.
New hires complete a structured 90-day introductory period: a check-in at 30 days, a written review at 60 days that includes feedback from the whole team, and a formal assessment at 90 days. By the end of it, a successful Junior Analyst can draw the system map from memory, has found defects nobody else caught, and writes reports that are reproducible from the write-up alone. You'll know where you stand the entire way — nothing at the 90-day mark should be a surprise.
Key responsibilities
Testing and quality
- Execute end-to-end test scripts across the customer lifecycle and log results in the standard format
- Write defect reports a developer can act on without a follow-up conversation — clear steps, expected result, actual result
- Maintain the improvement tracker: log findings, retest after fixes, and drive items to closure
- Verify that data created in one system appears correctly in the systems downstream of it
- Test with a user's eye as well as a functional one — does it work, and does it make sense
Systems and research
- Map the current system landscape and document how the pieces connect
- Read vendor, carrier, and program documentation and accurately summarize what is required, by when, and at what cost
- Support vendor and program applications by gathering documentation and tracking requirements and deadlines
- Verify records during data migration, log gaps and missing fields, and flag what needs a decision
Member-facing support
- Support the on-site team during peak coverage: walk-ins, member questions, and service transactions
- Run live test scenarios at the counter and confirm that what passes in testing holds up in practice
- Help members through platform changes and new feature rollouts, and capture where they get stuck
- Observe how members actually use the systems and feed that back into test coverage and documentation
Documentation and communication
- Contribute to help center and internal documentation for core workflows and common tasks
- Track your work daily in our project system and raise blockers early rather than absorbing them
- Translate between the on-site team and the people building the systems
Qualifications
Required
- Methodical and detail-oriented, with genuine patience for repetitive verification work
- Strong written communication — most of your output is written and has to stand on its own
- Comfortable reading dense vendor or regulatory documentation and summarizing it accurately
- Spreadsheet-fluent, and comfortable learning project tracking and testing tools
- Able to hold several connected systems in mind and reason about where they touch
- Comfortable working directly with members in person, including during a busy stretch or a rough interaction
- Self-directed — you'll manage your own testing schedule and flag when you're blocked
- Reliable availability for on-site work in Conroe; some testing and member coverage has to happen at a physical location
- Legal authorization to work in the United States. This is a W-2 position.
Preferred
- QA, UAT, or software testing experience on web applications
- Background in logistics, shipping, retail, point-of-sale, or field service software
- Customer-facing experience in retail, hospitality, or front desk operations
