Position Summary
The Logistics Specialist + Inside Sales role is responsible for coordinating procurement, logistics, scheduling, customer service, and inside sales activities to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and operational performance. This position serves as a critical link between customers, suppliers, production, engineering, and shipping teams by managing material flow, production schedules, order fulfillment, and customer communications. The successful candidate will be highly organized, customer-focused, and capable of balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership, Management & Accountability (LMA)
- Lead, manage, and hold team members accountable for daily execution of shipping, receiving, inventory control, scheduling, and logistics activities.
- Establish clear expectations, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify and resolve process inefficiencies to improve service levels and operational effectiveness.
Procurement & Supplier Management
- Manage purchasing activities for production materials, packaging supplies, and operational requirements.
- Source, evaluate, and qualify suppliers to support business needs and strategic objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliable supply and competitive pricing.
- Resolve supplier shortages, expedite critical materials, and support supplier quality improvement efforts.
- Ensure purchased materials meet customer specifications, quality standards, and production requirements.
Material Planning & Ordering
- Coordinate material requirements for Engineering, Production, and Packaging operations.
- Monitor inventory levels and material demand to ensure adequate supply.
- Track purchase orders and proactively follow up on material deliveries.
- Collaborate with internal departments to prevent material shortages and production disruptions.
Production, Slitting & Shipping Scheduling
- Coordinate production, slitting, and shipping schedules to meet customer delivery requirements.
- Work closely with Production and Operations teams to optimize equipment utilization and workflow efficiency.
- Prioritize orders and adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changing customer demands and business priorities.
- Monitor schedule adherence and communicate changes to stakeholders.
Shipping, Receiving & Freight Coordination
- Oversee inbound and outbound logistics activities to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Coordinate receiving, staging, inventory movement, and shipment preparation activities.
- Schedule freight pickups and deliveries with carriers and logistics providers.
- Communicate proactively with suppliers, carriers, and customers regarding shipment status.
- Optimize transportation costs while maintaining required service levels and delivery performance.
Customer Service & Inside Sales
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, order status requests, and service-related issues.
- Provide professional and responsive support to customers while maintaining strong relationships.
- Support inside sales activities, including quote follow-up, order processing, and customer account management.
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Order Management & Customer Communication
- Review and acknowledge all incoming customer purchase orders.
- Confirm pricing, order details, and estimated shipping dates promptly.
- Monitor open orders and proactively communicate delays, schedule changes, or potential issues.
- Provide accurate and solution-oriented updates to customers regarding order status and delivery expectations.
- Maintain customer records and documentation within company systems.
Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)
- Participate in monthly Sales & Operations Planning meetings.
- Provide analysis and reporting on customer demand, open orders, inventory levels, material availability, and logistics constraints.
- Collaborate with Production, Sales, Engineering, and Leadership teams to align customer demand with production capacity.
- Support strategic planning efforts to improve delivery performance and inventory management.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in logistics, procurement, supply chain, customer service, inside sales, or manufacturing operations.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of purchasing, inventory control, production scheduling, and freight management.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ERP/MRP systems.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
