Reporting initially to San Juan, with a planned relocation to Dorado in the future).

POSITION DESCRIPTION
As a
Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB) Technician, you will be directly responsible for evaluating, adjusting, and improving commercial and industrial HVAC systems. Your primary goal is to ensure that ventilation, air conditioning, and environmental control systems operate in strict compliance with technical design specifications, energy efficiency goals, and stringent regulatory standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adjusting & Balancing: Calibrate and balance air distribution and ventilation systems to align precisely with building design and infrastructure specifications.
- Field Testing: Conduct precise measurements and diagnostics of airflow, pressure differentials, temperature, and humidity across complex HVAC networks.
- Instrumentation & Calibration: Masterfully work, maintain, and care for specialized measurement equipment, including flow hoods, anemometers, and manometers.
- Technical Blueprint Interpretation: Read, analyze, and interpret mechanical blueprints, airflow/waterflow schematics, and technical engineering documents.
- Compliance & Documentation: Verify, record, and document system performance to guarantee compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and health regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: Proven experience working with commercial or industrial HVAC systems. Direct experience in Test & Balance (TAB) protocols is highly valued.
- Technical Skills: Strong ability in interpreting mechanical blueprints and complex engineering specifications.
- Tool Proficiency: Proved ability in handling fine-measurement instruments and specialized industry diagnostics tools.
- Mobility: Flexibility and willingness to travel to various project sites and client facilities across Puerto Rico.
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION
- Technical or Vocational Degree in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Industrial Mechanics, Electromechanics, or a closely related technical discipline.
- Licensing: A valid Puerto Rico Refrigeration Technician License is highly desirable.
- Certifications: Industry-specific certifications (e.g., AABC, NEBB, TABB) are considered a major competitive advantage.
