Position Overview
O’Neil Distributing is seeking a reliable and self-motivated Route Manager (Independent Contractor) to service convenience stores and dollar stores within an assigned route. This role focuses on product delivery coordination, merchandising execution, and order placement to ensure strong in-store presence and customer satisfaction.
This is a 1099 contract position, ideal for individuals who prefer independent, performance-driven work.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned route consisting primarily of C-stores and dollar stores
- Receive and work scheduled product loads
- Merchandise shelves to company and supplier standards
- Maintain proper product rotation and shelf organization
- Place orders based on inventory levels, sales trends, and store needs
- Communicate with store personnel regarding product needs and execution
- Identify out-of-stocks, voids, and merchandising opportunities
- Ensure accurate and timely order submission
- Maintain professional relationships with retail partners
Contractor Expectations
- Operate independently with minimal supervision
- Provide own transportation and tools required to complete the work
- Responsible for managing personal schedule and route efficiency
- Arrange approved coverage during any time off
- Comply with all applicable laws, safety standards, and store policies
Qualifications
- Prior merchandising, route sales, or beverage distribution experience preferred
- Ability to lift, move, and stock product regularly
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Comfortable working in multiple retail locations
- Reliable, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Familiarity with C-store or dollar store environments is a plus
Compensation
