Sushi Chef (Full-Time) — Great Neck, NY
Tiger Sushi is hiring one sushi chef.
Who we're looking for
Someone who preps well, works fast, and rolls well. We'll teach you the rest. We want someone reliable who plans to stay.
What you'll do
You run the roll station. You do the prep for it, and pull the orders during service. It's hands-on from open to close.
Schedule — 5 days a week
- Monday: 3:45 PM – 9:30 PM
- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 11:30 AM – 9:30 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch break, 3–4 PM)
- Saturday: 6:30 PM – 11:30 PM
- Off Friday and Sunday
- About 38 hours a week
Pay & Benefits
- $28 per hour
- Commute support — LIRR monthly pass or monthly parking
- Weekly pay, by check, W-2 (not cash)
- Raises reviewed after a minimum of 6 months
Requirements
- 2+ years making sushi rolls
- Able to peel a cucumber into one long continuous sheet and slice scallions thin (tested in the interview)
- Fast hands, solid prep
- Able to work evenings
- Basic English
- The Great Neck LIRR station (Port Washington line) is a short walk from the restaurant. Car and e-bike also fine.
