Duties
- Assist licensed speech-language pathologists in delivering therapy sessions tailored to individual student needs
- Support students during speech therapy activities focused on improving articulation, language, voice, and fluency
- Implement therapy strategies within classrooms, clinics, or early intervention programs under supervision
- Help prepare therapy materials and maintain organized documentation of student progress
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student communication goals and IEP (Individualized Education Program) objectives
- Monitor student responses during sessions and provide feedback to the supervising clinician
- Participate in school-based or clinical team meetings to discuss student progress and plan next steps
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children, especially in pediatric or school environments
- Knowledge of speech therapy techniques, physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to communication disorders
- Familiarity with early intervention practices and IEP processes for students with special needs
- Ability to work effectively with students across diverse age groups and developmental levels
- Strong understanding of pediatric speech and language development within educational or acute care settings
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including teachers, therapists, and families
- Certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (or equivalent) is preferred but not mandatory; relevant coursework or internship experience is valued
