We are conducting a confidential search for an experienced Traveling Project Superintendent to oversee field operations for a well-established and growing heavy civil contractor specializing in complex infrastructure projects throughout the Southeast.
This position requires travel and is ideal for a superintendent with a strong background in heavy highway, site development, underground utilities, bridge construction, concrete structures, and large-scale civil construction. The successful candidate is a proven field leader who thrives on delivering quality projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Responsibilities
- Lead all field operations from project start through completion.
- Manage daily construction activities while maintaining safety, quality, production, and schedule.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, equipment, and field personnel.
- Develop and maintain 3- to 6-week look-ahead schedules.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Owners, and Inspectors.
- Conduct daily planning meetings and maintain project documentation.
- Mentor Foremen and field staff while building a positive jobsite culture.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards.
- Resolve field issues quickly while maintaining productivity and quality.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of Heavy Civil construction experience.
- Previous experience as a Superintendent, General Foreman, or Assistant Superintendent.
- Strong background in heavy highway, underground utilities, sitework, bridges, or concrete structures.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience managing multiple crews, subcontractors, and equipment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- OSHA certification is a plus.
- Willingness to travel throughout the Southeast as projects require.
