SUMMARY OF POSITION
In accordance with the mission and values of The Village of St. Edward, the Activities Assistant assists in organizing, directing and carrying out a program of activities which covers spiritual development, recreation, diversion, intellectual/educational development for residents as an integral part of total resident care.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Valid Ohio Driver’s license in good standing.
- Must be able to lift, push and pull 50 pounds independently and over 50 pounds with assistance.
- Walk, stand and sit intermittently during the day.
- Availability to work on weekends, evenings, and some holidays.
- Must have an understanding of the social, psychological and recreational needs of older adults on a continuum of care campus and must be able to plan and organize activities geared to these needs.
- Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm and must be able to work effectively with people.
- Must possess strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have reliable transportation
