Responsibilities
- Coordinate food orders between the kitchen staff and front-of-house team to ensure timely delivery of dishes.
- Expedite food by checking that all items meet quality standards before serving.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including plating and garnishing dishes to enhance presentation.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to relay special requests or dietary restrictions.
- Support food safety and handling procedures to maintain hygiene standards at all times.
- Assist with bussing tables and clearing dishes to maintain a clean dining environment.
- Use POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for order processing and billing purposes.
Skills
- Proven experience in food service, restaurant operations, or culinary environments.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, expediting, and handling techniques.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate efficiently with kitchen staff and front-of-house team.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with POS systems, numeracy skills for order accuracy, and organizational abilities.
- Understanding of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices.
- Previous banquet or catering experience is a plus, demonstrating versatility in food service settings.
