Position Summary: Responsible for the laser, brake and Timesaver teams; meeting timeframes, quality control, and ensuring team members stay on task and within strict schedules to assure deadlines are met. Takes a lead role and is an active participant in all departments.
Responsibilities

Works with and receives priority directions from Senior Lead to ensure meeting of scheduled product ship dates.

Assists in providing employees with sufficient training to ensure quality and efficient production of our products & assists team with day-to-day activities.

Supervises employees within company guidelines by continuously offering corrective, disciplinary, or promotional actions.

Assists in the employee review process within the department; maintains effective notes and writes employee reviews.
-
Actively promotes manufacturing techniques, offers supportive ideas, and reports negligence.

Confers with Senior lead to ensure work order requirements are on time and available.

Assist in the continuous development of outlined department procedures.

Ability to inspect equipment, structures or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.

Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within all department fields

Planning: must be forward thinking with the ability to plan ahead

Able to observe safety and security procedures and use equipment and materials properly.

Keep the department organized to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Determine and manage required resources to meet production targets on 1st shift.

Create, implement and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures for production.

Monitors and review performance of staff and organizes necessary interventions for improvement.

Responsible for the review and handling of disciplinary issues of Sheet Metal personnel on 1st shift.

Ensure daily housekeeping of departmental areas.

Crosstrain team members for maximum production flexibility

Performs all other duties as directed by Management.
Competencies & Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent
-
3 + years of supervisory experience in sheet metal manufacturing with Lasers, Brakes, Saws and Timesavers
-
Experience with and ability to learn to operate Lasers, brakes and Time savers.
-
5+ years of strong mechanical experience
-
Excellent working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, measuring tools.

Excellent knowledge of Lasers, Brakes, Timesavers and precision measuring tools
-
Experience in a manufacturing environment required.

Experience with MRP/ERP systems

Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Previous management experience of 10 or more employees preferred.

Required to wear PPE equipment at all times while on the production floor.
