Duties
- Supervise and care for children in various settings such as daycare centers, preschools, or private homes, ensuring their safety at all times
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social skills, including toddler care and infant care routines
- Support childhood development milestones through teaching basic skills and encouraging exploration
- Administer first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any health or safety concerns
- Manage behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, or caregivers to share progress updates and address individual needs, including working with children with disabilities
- Maintain a clean, organized environment that complies with health and safety regulations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in childcare roles such as babysitting, nannying, or working in daycare or preschool settings
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development stages
- Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Experience working with children of different ages, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
- Strong understanding of behavior management techniques suitable for young children
- Ability to work effectively with children with disabilities or special needs
- Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, and team members effectively
