Description
You will join a fast-paced, integrated team leading Storage efforts in support of an enterprise IT environment. The ideal candidate brings deep, hands-on experience across LUN provisioning, ONTAP Cluster Administration, cloud storage services, backup solutions, and data retention — with strong in-depth knowledge of both Windows and Linux environments.
This role is hands-on and platform-focused: you'll own the health, performance, and evolution of the storage layer that downstream services depend on, and you'll partner directly with engineering, operations, and stakeholder teams to keep data flowing reliably.
Responsibilities
Administer and tune NetApp ONTAP clusters, including provisioning, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
Design and implement LUN provisioning, multipathing, and NAS file sharing (NFS, CIFS/SMB).
Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot storage across both Windows and Linux environments.
Manage backup and recovery operations using enterprise tools (Veeam, Commvault, Veritas) and apply data retention strategies.
Integrate on-premise storage with virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V) and cloud storage services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) as needed.
Conduct capacity planning, performance analysis, and routine audits of storage health.
Document configurations, runbooks, and operating procedures so other engineers can step in seamlessly.
Collaborate with the broader infrastructure and engineering teams to evolve the storage roadmap.
Skills Requirements
Strong Storage background with deep ONTAP Cluster Administration experience.
Fluency in LUN provisioning, multipathing, and NAS file sharing (NFS, CIFS/SMB).
Hands-on experience with storage technologies from major vendors such as NetApp (ONTAP), Dell EMC (PowerMax / Unity / Isilon), Pure Storage, or Hitachi.
Familiarity with VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, and cloud storage services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Knowledge of backup solutions (Veeam, Commvault, Veritas) and data retention strategies.
Strong proficiency in Linux and Windows environments.
Clear technical communication and documentation skills.
Nice to Haves
Experience with storage automation via PowerShell, Python, or Ansible.
Experience with object storage (S3, Azure Blob) and hybrid storage architectures.
Experience integrating storage with Kubernetes (CSI drivers) or containerized workloads.
Exposure to SAN fabric administration (Brocade, Cisco MDS).
Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools for storage (Grafana, Prometheus, vendor-specific).
Compensation & Employment Policy
Salary is determined by multiple factors, including location, education, experience, skills, and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $160,000 – $182,000 (annualized USD).
